A SUMMARY OF THE WHOLE WEEK IN LLINARS DEL VALLÈS!

OUR MOVIE SUMMARY OF THE EXCHANGE;)
Diumenge 20/11/2016
1st day: Sunday 20th
Back and forth Llinars – Barcelona airport. We are on the train at 8.00h in the morning to pick up our Smart friends from Poland and Italy. No delays. Everyone is on time. When we get back to Llinars the host families from Italy and Poland take the kids for lunch. At 14:30h our friends from Greece arrive. At 18:00h our friends from Cyprus arrive. We all meet up in the centre of the village, take a few pictures and go home.

Dilluns 21/11/2016
2nd day: Monday 21st
We welcome our Smart friends at school with a banner at the entrance and a song by the First graders. After that the Smart team visits each classroom where they are welcome by teachers and students and each one of them is given a piece of a puzzle that once is completed it is a picture of our school. We then have a typical Catalan breakfast and we go to the Town Hall where we are greeted by the Mayor. After speeches by the Mayor and representatives of the Teaching authorities, some presents are given to our guests. The students go back to school and the Erasmus teachers are invited to lunch by the Mayor.
Back to school at 3:00h we start the first workshop for the students making “panellets”, sweet pastries that are typical Catalan for Halloween.
At 16:30h, when classes are over, we have a display of Catalan culture in the gym of the school: “Catellers” (Human towers), “Sardana” (the most famous Catalan dance of all) and “Gitanes” (another dance typical of Catalonia).
We then go for a walk around the village and home.
Another lovely day.
Dimarts 22/11/2016
3rd day: Tuesday 22nd
In the morning we start with another workshop for students: making beautiful flowers from recycled material. After breakfast the pupils go back to their classrooms with their friends while the teachers do a workshop on “Fimo”, which is a special material to make jewellery.
After lunch we assist the “Santa Cecilia” concert given by our 6th graders playing the recorders and other instruments. At 16:30h the students give the concert again, but this time the audience are the parents. It is then that the winners of the Pumpkin Contests are given their diplomas. The association of mothers and fathers of our school invite the Smart team and host families to “Xurros amb Xocolata” for tea which is a traditional meal in our country.

4th day: Wednesday 23rd
We leave the school in the morning heading to Barcelona to visit “Camp Nou”. We actually go with all the 6th grade students. The first person we meet is “Leo Messi”. Or actually his double. He accompanies us to visit the museum and tells us lots of anecdotes about the Argentinian player. We are allowed to visit the football field and lots of places that we have only seen on T.V.
After the visit, the 6th graders go to Park Güell and the Smart team go for lunch outside the “Sagrada Família” and then to visit Gaudí’s temple. We leave “Sagrada Família” when it’s raining cats and dogs, take the train back to Llinars and home.
Dijous 24/11/2016
5th day: Thursday 24th
“Fofuchas” is the next workshop for teachers. We make dolls with E.V.A. material and all sorts of other things. It’s brilliant.
At lunchtime we get together with all the teachers from the school and we have a wonderful “paella” cooked by our school chef.
Then the Smart team goes to Barcelona to visit “Park Güell”, another Modernist jewel by Gaudí and after a bus ride we meet with some of the host parents in the centre of Barcelona to visit the Cathedral and the Gothic quarters.
Divendres 25/11/2016
6th day: Friday 25th
Lovely farewell party in the school playground with all the school members, Erasmus friends and host families to say goodbye. First we dance a “Sardana”, then “L’hora dels adéus” (Auld Lang Syne) and afterwards songs from the visiting countries. We finish singing the anthem of our school among hugs and tears. A week we will never forget!

Ja els tenim aquí!!!!!
Després de un diumenge de trens amunt i avall ja els tenim a tots aquí :)
El primer peloton, que havia de recollir els companys de Poland i de Italy, varem marxar cap a l'estació a les 8;46 del matí i els recolliem allà sobre les 11:30. A les dues del migdia arribavem a Llinars i totes les families marxaven a fer un dinar conjunt.
Per altra banda els profes d'Italia i de Polònia també marxaven a dinar amb els profes de casa:)
El segon grup sortia a les 2:46 a recollir els companys de Grècia. Sobre les 6:50 tornavem a ser a Llinars amb ells.
El tercer grup i ja últim sortia de Llinars a les 6:46 i tornaven sobre les 11 de la nit, cansats però amb els seus nous companys al seu costat.
La primera nit una mica mogudeta, enyorances, nervis, pors, ...
Poc a poc ho anirem superant tot.
